Apply for a virtual workspace where you can directly access computational facilities to analyze CMIP and CORDEX data. Data near processing capabilities at the CNRS-IPSL, CMCC, DKRZ, and UKRI STFC-JASMIN centers will be made accessible to a broader user community starting 16 September 2020 through the new Trans-national Access (TNA) service. These processing capabilities support multi-model server-side data analyses through direct access to large data pools. Results from user groups enabled
through the virtual workspace access will be disseminated under the project.

The Asia-Pacific Network (APN) invites proposals under its Collaborative Regional Research Programme (CRRP) and Capacity Development Programme (CAPaBLE) for funding from September 2020. A limited amount of financial support is available for regional research and capacity development activities that fall within its areas of interest:
- Climate change and climate variability and their related impacts (climate projections/downscaling, extreme events, DRR, monsoon, etc.)
- Ecosystem-based adaptation and disaster risk reduction
- Smart agriculture
- Transboundary issues (pollution, water quality, human health, fisheries and microplastics, invasive species, waste management, etc.)

The International Science Council (ISC) and the WDS are calling on their respective members, as well as partners organizations concerned with scientific data stewardship, to nominate new members of the Scientific Committee (SC). The SC is the governing body of WDS, and is composed of internationally recognized and leading
researchers and experts in all aspects of scientific data. SC members are appointed in their personal capacity normally for a three-year term that is renewable once, with attention to geographical, disciplinary, and gender balance.

FESSTVaL (Field Experiment on submesoscale spatio-temporal variability in Lindenberg) is a measurement campaign initiated by the Hans-Ertel-Center for Weather Research. It will take place in the summer of 2020, and during the intensive observation period in July 2020, the scientists of the campaign are offering a Summer School. It is aimed at M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and Postdocs in meteorology, physics, and related research
areas. The program will provide participants with insights into observing and understanding submesoscale atmospheric dynamics, such as convective scale observations from different platforms, submesoscale dynamics, and modeling. The call for applications is available here.

The University of Arizona’s Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences is seeking two full-time postdoctoral researchers in the field of Earth system modeling. One position will focus on global atmospheric processes; e.g., aerosol-cloud-meteorology interactions, dynamics-physics (cloud microphysics, shallow convection, and atmospheric boundary layer) coupling, and subseasonal-to-seasonal forecasting improvement. The other will focus on land processes; e.g., hybrid 3-D
hydrological modeling for Earth system models, the role of soil moisture and temperature as well as vegetation in land-atmosphere interaction, and land model improvement (including snowpack modeling).
