The first 2023 edition of the GEWEX Quarterly features articles on lessons learned from the first 30 years of GEWEX, a new GEWEX initiative on groundwater, the remote effect of Tibetan Plateau spring temperature and the second phase of LS4P, increasing our insights into alpine cold region hydrological processes with INARCH, examining radiation fog through intercomparisons with the Demistify project, updates from PannEx on understanding Earth system components and their interaction in the Pannonian Basin, and the role of early career researchers in contributing to Earth observations and geospatial science during a workshop in Kigali, Rwanda.
